Tailormade Cold Room Solutions

The KLC range of cold rooms offers no standard solutions - every single room is customized based on the needs of the individual customer, delivering high-quality, flexible bulk storage for chilled or frozen goods.

How it works

If you can give us your footprint, temperature needs, and workflow, we will help draw up the ideal cold room or freezer room for your business. You can explore the different steps in more detail below or give us a call to learn more.

Design a Cold Room that Fits Your Exact Needs

Do you have an odd shaped space or perhaps specific requirements for windows, walls between different sections, or reinforced floors? Then customized cold rooms are the way to go! In just six steps, you can design your ideal cold room, while maintaining the ease and speed of assembly.

Step 1 - Choose the Dimensions of the Room

With the customized cold room range you can build the cold room to fit your space, shaping it with panels starting from 40 cm with a modularity of 20 cm. This means that even if you have an odd space with e.g. a pillar in the way, it is possible to simply build the cold room to go around it and make the most of those precious square meters.

Step 2 - Choose Panel Thickness and Finish

We offer three standard panel solutions: 60mm, 100mm, and 130mm panel insulation. You would typically use 60mm and 100mm for cold room solutions, whereas 130mm panels are often used for freezer rooms. However, it is of course also possible to combine the 130mm panels with a monoblock cooling unit to achieve a highly energy efficient cold room.

• Panel thickness: 60mm, 100mm, and 130mm as standard
• 120μm plastic coated and galvanized steel sheet panels with special antibacterial treatment
• Easy to install panel assembly with twin-hook fasteners and FAST-FIT centering systems
• Stainless steel finishing internal/external as option

Step 3 - Choose Floor Type

You can choose between four different floor types ranging from a standard walk-in floor to a heavy-use reinforced floor, where you can use a manual pallet jack when restocking the room. The walk-in floor will typically be sufficient for smaller cold rooms or freezer rooms in restaurants or grocery shops, where staff lift smaller boxes or bags of food items in and out of the room. However, if you use a cold room for something heavier, like e.g. beverages, a reinforced floor is a better way to go.

Step 4 - Choose Doors and Windows

Do you need one large room or different sections in your cold room or freezer room? With the customized cold room range you can build the room to fit your exact needs, adding walls and doors between different sections or perhaps adding windows to improve the workflow.

• Hinged doors
• Sliding doors
• Swing doors
• Glass doors
• Windows with aluminium frames

Step 5 - Choose a Monoblock Refrigeration Unit

This step is crucial to ensure a functioning room for your bulk storage needs. To choose the right monoblock, several factors play in:

• Size of the room
• The ambient temperature
• Setpoint temperature

You can read more in our blog post about how to choose the best monoblock for your cold room
The customized cold rooms and freezer rooms can be combined with one of the TEFCOLD monoblock ranges: WRA monoblocks or CRU monoblocks without a panel attached.

Step 6 - Choose Accessories

Depending on the purpose of your cold room or freezer room, you can add different accessories for a better workflow.

• Shelves
• Light
• Hooks and hanging bars
• Connecting box kit for doors
• Compensation valve
• Self-closing device
• Strip curtain
• Entrance ramp
